1996 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 by Max Hazan  @FGIDEAS

The iconic Royal Enfield bikes have been on the road for more than a century, these days however, they are rarely seen outside of India where they are still a popular means of two wheeled transportation. In spite of this, there is still a global following for the brand, including the multi-disciplinary designer and craftsman, Max Hazan, who has lovingly rebuilt this rare 1996 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 from scratch in his Brooklyn based workshop known as Hazan Motorworks.

His experience in the building of boats, airplanes and furniture has been combined and utilized within this project, which has resulted in a sleek polished edition of this beautiful bike. Drawing inspiration from everything and anything in his day to day life, each element of the bike was hand crafted as a work of art to shine both individually before joining part of the reassembly procedure.

The elegantly crafted wooden seat, which extends to the fender, was inspired by the streamlined classic shape of the Italian speedboat. The entire project was a one man show, a two month labor of love which is unlikely to be repeated by Max Hazan as he prefers each project to be unique. The finished bike is undoubtedly a one of a kind collector’s item and a functional sculpture of mechanical art.
